Fix #3

So, I decided to peek online before my fix came in order to get my expectations corrected. I did this by going online and clicking on the checkout survey after the package was sent, but hadn't arrived at my house. I then searched for the items online, but only found a few of the things sent. I was really glad I did this! I'm not someone who loves surprises and it helped me to adjust my expectations.

Papermoon
Hamlet Lace Detail Blouse

I was really excited to see this. I loved the color from the start. I've been trying to add variety in colors to my wardrobe and this was perfect. While I'm not usually a fan of the loose fitted tops, I really loved this. The fabric had just enough structure and sheerness that I didn't feel like I was wearing a tent.

I loved the fit in the shoulders and the fun details in the back.

One great thing about Stitch Fix is that you can try the stuff on at home with items you already own. I discovered that it looked great with a skirt, too. This made it more desirable to me because of the versatility.

Love, love, love!

Conclusion: Keep

Towne & Reese
Katharine Mini-Triangle Drop Earrings

After the last two earring sets sent to me I decided that I needed to pin some earrings that I liked. It totally paid off. I had previously pinned some earrings almost exactly like these. I was hesitant about keeping these because I've never had earrings this long before. Also, I have similar earrings already in silver, but they are shorter. After wearing them for a bit, I really liked them. I own very little gold jewelry, so this is a great addition.

Conclusion: Keep

Papermoon
Kasidy Geo Print Skirt

I wasn't too excited about this skirt. I had found one similar online before it came and I wasn't sure how I felt about it. I do love the graphic pattern of the skirt. I had pinned a graphic black and white skirt earlier, so I can see where the inspiration came from.

The length was perfect and it was really soft. Because it was so flowy, I felt that I would need to tuck in my shirt, but the fabric was so thin that I felt it looked bulky. I didn't really like where it sat on my waist. Also, a lot of my dress clothes are black and white, so it wouldn't add that much variation to my wardrobe. Even though my husband thought it looked good, I wasn't completely in love.

Conclusion: Return

Colourworks
Mallory Ruffle Back Open Cardigan

This cardigan was extremely soft and fit very well. Unfortunately, I have a gray cardigan very similar to this already. I also wasn't a huge fan of the ruffle in the back.

Conclusion: Return

Market & Spruce
Persia Printed Maxi Dress

I have specifically requested no sleeveless dresses, but my stylist sent the cardigan along with this for some added coverage. It actually didn't look that bad with a shirt underneath. I don't like wearing cardigans with fitted dresses because I feel like you lose the small waist effect. The fabric was SO soft and it was super comfortable to wear. Like I mentioned before, a lot of my dressy clothes are black and white, so I didn't feel like I wanted another one.

Also, for some reason it made my butt look pointy. I have no idea how it did this, but it was not ok.

Conclusion: Return

I was really happy with this fix. I found some pieces that I absolutely love. I feel like things are going to get back on track.

Fix #2

I was really excited for my next fix to come, hoping that the stylist would better understand what I was looking for.

Skies are Blue
Page Flutter Sleeve Blouse

This looked horrible on me. I am not a fan of the flowy clothes because they tend to make me look a million times bigger. That was the case with this top. Steven said it looked like a mu-mu. No good. I also didn't love the small print floral. I prefer it to be a larger print.

Conclusion: Returned

Pixley
Edmond Chevron Print Henley Shirt

This shirt surprised me. I wasn't expecting much when I first saw it, but I actually liked it. The fabric was extremely comfortable and it definitely would be something new and different to my wardrobe. I didn't love the colors, though. I was on the fence about this one. I liked the fit and style, but not the print. I've decided that unless I am completely in love with something, I'm not going to keep it.

Conclusion: Return

Pixley
Kathy Striped Fit & Flare Dress

This was a super cute dress. It fit wonderfully and made me look awesome. Unfortunately it was a few inches too short. It was frustrating to me because I simply couldn't wear it and it felt like a wasted item.

Conclusion: Return

Kut From The Kloth
Kate Distressed Boyfriend Jean

Oh, boy! I really don't like distressed clothing and these looked awful. The fit was off and wasn't doing me any favors. They didn't stand a chance.

Conclusion: Return

I was also sent some earrings, but they felt really clunky to me.

Conclusion: Return

This fix was a bust. I was actually pretty upset and wrote an email to them explaining why I was disappointed. They were super great about it and actually credited me $20 to cover the styling fee. I learned that I needed to be more specific about what I can and can't wear when it comes to modesty. I also went through all of my pins on my Pinterest board and edited the captions to reflect my opinion.

It is important to be as specific as possible. They really are trying to make you happy and I was really impressed with how they handled my complaint.

Fix #1

I got this fix a few months ago. I was super excited about it. I didn't take pictures of the items I got, unfortunately.

41Hawtorn
McQue Solid Lace Sleeve Blouse

The first was this top. I was really excited for this. It looked ok on. It felt a little too billowy for me and the sleeves were lace, which is too sheer for me. Also, Steven said it fit like a garbage bag. He prefers things a little more fitted. While it was beautiful, it just wasn't flattering. I also need non-sheer sleeves for modesty.

Conclusion: Return

Kut From The Kloth
Siena Capri Pant

I loved these pants! They looked great on me and I felt it was a great addition to my wardrobe. The pants are really soft and very high quality. I like that I can dress it up or down, depending on the event. They are green, so that has been fun to have some variation and different options.

Conclusion: Keep

Le Lis
Nene Striped Midi Dress

This dress felt great. It was really flattering on me and the skirt was extremely soft. I especially loved the length that hit right below my knee. I only had one problem with it, the lack of sleeves. They were barely not long enough. I really debated over this one, but ended up deciding that it wouldn't work.

Conclusion: Return

Just USA
Morrie Boyfriend Denim Jacket

This just wasn't working for me. It made me look like a big box. I'm not really a fan of denim jackets and it had some distressed details that I'm not fond of.

Conclusion: Return

I was also sent some earrings that I ended up returning because they were similar to ones I already had.

For my first fix I felt pretty happy. I found something that I absolutely loved and several of the items were close to hitting the mark.

How Stitch Fix Works

I hate shopping for clothes. I never know what looks good on me or what is in style. I often come home very frustrated and tired.

I discovered Stitch Fix a few months ago and I was really excited. After filling out a Style Profile, your very own personal stylist will send you five items to try on. You have a few days to decide what you want to keep and what you want to send back. There is a $20 styling fee, but it goes towards anything you want to keep. You can also manage how often they come.

It's easy to sign up. Just follow this link: Stitch Fix.

A few tricks I've learned:

- Create a Pinterest board and update it often. Also, when you pin something, make sure you write exactly what you like about it. This will give your stylist a better idea of what you like and why. Check my board out here.

- When you give feedback, be as specific as possible, both positive and negative. The more info you can give, the better the stylists will get.

I've decided that I wanted to create a blog to better help my stylists understand my style and what looks good on me. I've loved looking at reviews from other blogs and I hope this can be helpful to you in your Stitch Fix adventures.
